Getting started
What SortedResearch does
SortedResearch runs card sorting studies: you give participants a set of cards (items, features, topics), they sort them into groups that make sense to them, and the platform turns the results into clear analysis and a Graham-written insight report (Graham is the platform's AI assistant). It's used to design information architecture, navigation, taxonomies, and content groupings.
Accounts & plans
- Sign up with an email and password. You start on the Free plan (one study) and can upgrade any time.
- Plans: Free (1 study), Individual ($49/mo or $490/yr), Team ($99/mo or $990/yr, multiple seats), and Enterprise (custom). See Plans & billing for limits.
- Passwords are checked against known-breach lists, so very common passwords are rejected. Minimum 8 characters.
- Forgot your password? Use the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in page to get a reset email.
The dashboard
After signing in you land on your dashboard, which lists your studies. Each study shows its status (draft / live / paused / closed) and a quick summary: sort type, how many participants started and completed, and how many were screened out.
- Create a study with the New study button (top right).
- Open any study to edit it, share it, or view results.
Folders (organizing studies)
Group studies into folders, handy for separating clients or projects.
- Set a study's folder in the Client / folder field when you create it, or later in the study's settings. Type a new name to create a folder, or an existing one to file it there. Folder names are case-insensitive.
- Each folder gets a color. Click the colored square next to a folder name on the dashboard to change it (10 colors available).
- Leave the field blank to keep a study Unfiled.
- Folders are purely for your organization. Participants never see them.
Account settings
Your account page shows your signed-in email and lets you change your password. There's also a link to your error log for troubleshooting.
